I just read in another blog about a father who is happy he has learned how to wear a sling (congrats!), and it reminded me of our early days. This borrowed sling is actually on wrong, but you can't really tell ;) We eventually became "experts" and hiked all over the place slinging (and breastfeeding, well, I did, not Patrick).
It's fun to carry around a little pea in a pod!
I can't wait to do it again! So here's a little reminder of what is to come ...
Oh, and then another reminder: that pea quickly grows up, so do all you can do to cherish those first few days/weeks/months!!!! Then do all you can do to cherish the rest ;)
The surprising thing about parenthood, and this from a mom who LOVES the newborn stage, is that every stage becomes my new favorite!

I even recently looked forward to my first go at changing a nappy! I have, it could be said, "got it bad"... ;-)
Do you have your "stash"? I was nuts with my first ... I loved diapering. I wonder if it'll come back and bite me again. I find I'm much more practical this go round. I'll likely buy a couple of cute wool covers once I know his personality ... OK, matching covers to personality ... yes, I guess I still have the bug.
A bit of a "stash"! As they're less than cheap, we're picking up the odd few as we go along. Trying different styles etc.
(who knew, in my pre-pending-parenthood days, I'd be having conversations about nappies!!)
*Chuckle* Oh how conversations change when you become a parent ... when I found myself talking about poop color to strangers ... well, I realized parenting had changed me in more ways than I ever could have imagined.
Anyway, if you find yourself liking pockets, it can get pricey. We like fitteds/prefolds for the small size, and pockets for the medium because diaper changes take on a whole new meaning with mobility ;)
You've lost me slightly there! "fitted/prefolds" I get, but... "pockets"?
(I am also finding I have become something of an expert (ish) on pregnancy - terms like "Braxton-Hicks," "pelvic floor" and "TENS machine" just roll off the tongue!)
LOL -- come on over to diaperpin.com ;) pockets are great!
