Snips and Snails ...

As the mom of boys I find that my days are often filled with "snips, snails and puppy dog tails."
For example, yesterday:
*Snips* While participating in the craft portion of story time at the library, Wesley took the scissors he was holding, walked behind me and snipped off a lock of my hair.
*Snails* On the way to story time, Wesley picked up a snail and asked, "Can I put this snail on your face?"
*Puppy Dog Tails* Don't get me started ... Let's just say we have two dogs, he has two hands, and too often he pulls their tails.

On top of all this, my day is filled with questions about poop, space, cars, trucks, planes, dirt, mud, etc. Needless to say, I could use a little more "frill" in my life, you know, some girly girl time with some G I R L S.

To that end, I propose two movements:
1) The Respite Housewives: The first meeting of The Respite Housewives will come to order over coffee and cake Monday morning at my house when my neighbors directly to either side of my house, and any other neighbor whom they invite, come over. The kids can play in the play area, we'll take the living room.

2) Book It: The first "non" book club will come to order this weekend when the women whose numbers I jotted down on the back of a paper plate after story time and I meet at a coffee shop to discuss our first title ... actually, there are no books involved. The "book" theme is a cover up ... we're really just "book"ing some girl time ;)

Remind me, as my little girl approaches, arrives at and surpasses the age that Wesley is now, to pass on any superfluous girly frills pertaining to such! Not that I'm expecting Talise to be a truly girly-girl, but you never know... ;)
