... and waking up in the middle of the night to peacocks.
You probably won't, but it is possible.
Patrick is there now driving around town with a Realtor and hoping he finds the perfect house at the right price because otherwise we'll move into a rental unit of some sort and then move again when we do find the right house.
So anyway, he's driving through a neighborhood and a strange bird flies above his car.
"What the heck is that?" he wondered. He looked around and saw a peacock, and then another, and then he heard a shriek of some sort and heard the flock of birds. They were everywhere.
He pulled over and talked to a person in the neighborhood. That person told him that there once was a man who had about 20 peacocks in his yard and when he died, they stayed. Their numbers range in the hundreds now and they roam the neighborhood in much the same way squirrels scamper through our backyard trees in N.C.
It's not exactly the location we want, so we probably won't end up with peacocks as neighbors, but I think it's a cool story about a quirky little area in San Antonio.
